For me, on a daily basis, Daoism means that I wake up, get clean and dressed, meditate, and then recite morning scriptures, then I eat (after reciting an appropriate prayer) and get ready for my day. I then go about my day trying to hold certain precepts (some of which are identified below) and trying to help as many people as I can. On certain days, I recite a noon scripture too. And then, towards the end of the day, after all of my engagement with the world, I recite additional scriptures, review my conduct during the day against specific goals for personal change and precepts, and then may meditate further. I do this every single day (with the exception of every 10th day, the Daoist weekend if you will).
My level of practice is not for everyone. I spend my day accumulating peace and stillness. I then smooth any rough edges. This means I generally a lot of experiences many people seek - I do not take intoxicants, I do not party, I generally avoid rollercoasters - whether physical or emotional.
Be better.
